Dr. Cheryl Peek-Ball has an M.D. degree from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University and a Master’s in Public Health from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She has worked for Bermuda’s Department of Health since 1990 where she began as a Medical Officer for Maternal Health & Family Planning before becoming Senior Medical Officer in December 2009. She currently serves as Bermuda’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO). She is a member of the Bermuda Medical Doctors Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Peek-Ball is also the founder of the Conscious Parenting Movement where she is the host and facilitator of parenting workshops.

Dr. William B. Lawson obtained his medical degree from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine, and a PhD from the University of New Hampshire. He has had a longstanding research and clinical interest in addressing racial and ethnic disparities in care, and has supported innovative treatments for the underserved, mentally ill and substance abusers. He has held numerous senior positions including chair of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Howard University, president of the District of Columbia chapter of Mental Health America, president of the Washington Psychiatric Society, chair of the Section of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of the National Medical Association, president of the Black Psychiatrists of America, chief of psychiatry at the Roudebush Veterans Administration Hospital and chief medical officer for the State of Tennessee Department of Mental Health.

Dr. Armel Simo is a family medicine doctor in Baltimore, Maryland and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Mercy Medical Center-Baltimore and South Georgia Medical Center Lanier Campus. He has been in practice for more than 10 years.

Mr. Curtis Fomengia graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biopsychology from UMBC in Baltimore, Maryland, and he received a Physician Assistant Studies degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C. Mr. Fomengia is certified by the NCCPA. He specializes in Family Medicine and acute care.

Mr. Kenneth Fomengia is a certified medical practitioner. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Towson University and he recieved his Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mr. Fomengia is certified by the NCCPA.

Dr. Kelsey Ball completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at Howard University in Washington, D.C. After completing internship at the University of Miami Counseling Center, she began working as an independent contractor and consultant. Her training in forensic settings, schools, community mental health and private practice has provided her with a variety of clinical experiences with diverse populations. Having grown up in Bermuda, she has a particular interest in minority mental health and consistently advocates for holistic approaches to health and wellness with at-risk populations.

Ms. Melat Assefa is a Nurse Practitioner Specialist in Washington, DC. She graduated with honors in 2013 from Howard University. Having more than 6 years of diverse experiences, Ms. Melat Assefa affiliates with many hospitals including Howard University Hospital and Providence Hospital.
